As a medical animation studio, Elara has had the opportunity to develop 3D ocular anatomy for dozens of eye related 3D animations. From animated LASIK surgery, cataract surgery and intraocular lenses to subconjunctival implants, Elara’s medical animators have a depth of knowledge in ophthalmology and optometry techniques and anatomy – not to mention a library of custom 3D models.
The production team at Elara produces 3D animations of complex pathologies and breakthrough procedures, but not all conditions of the eye require surgery, implants or corrective contacts and glasses. Chronic dry eye syndrome is a widespread condition that affects millions of people, but epidemiological information is limited by the lack of a uniform definition and the inability of any single diagnostic to confirm or rule out the condition. Simply put, this condition is not fully understood and may be under-diagnosed. To the people suffering from the condition, their deficiency of tears and the associated discomfort is very real.
Elara created a 3D animation to raise awareness to the condition of Dry Eye Disease. We believe that an innovative physician or scientist will soon develop new diagnostics and treatments for this condition, and when that happens, Elara medical animation team will be willing and able to unpack the complex science into a compelling visual communication.
