3D Animation Enhances Breast Cancer Awareness

Did you know that 1 in 8 U.S. women will develop breast cancer?

That’s roughly 12 percent of the general population. People with BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene mutations, however, are at a much higher risk for breast cancer (and specifically for women, ovarian cancer). The presence of the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes can dramatically increase the chance that an individual will eventually be diagnosed with it by up to 60 percent.

As the medical industry and our technological capabilities continue to advance, we’re able to look at those BRCA1 and BRCA2 gene mutations to predict an individual’s breast cancer likelihood. By testing those with a family history of breast cancer before a diagnosis, doctors can take precautions and set up screenings. Overall, testing for these genes can reduce anxiety and help patients make medical and lifestyle decisions.

To educate the public on this during Breast Cancer Awareness month in October, the Elara team created a 3D animated video. It brings to life visual aspects of breast cancer and gene mutations to better educate the public. Because when it comes to tough topics like breast cancer, words aren’t always enough. This video illustrates breast cancer basics and the gene test that occurs when someone is at a higher risk for breast cancer. Utilizing 3D animation, medical images, statistics and more, we walk viewers through BRCA1 and BRCA2 gene mutations. We also encourage them to be proactive and put an early detection plan together.

As demonstrated by our breast cancer awareness video, Elara can tell any story in a way that educates viewers and sheds light on complex topics. Using 3D animation, we can simplify communication between our clients and their audience. Whether you’re in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industry — or something else entirely — the team at Elara can produce unique content that captures the imagination of your company or market. We have world-class animators, artists in Medical Visualization, an in-house creative studio, and high-level computing power. You can check out some of our other medical animations here.

Elara has more than 17 years of experience blending technology and creativity. When you take advantage of 3D animation and use 3D modeling to visualize your project in a new way, you can create better educational animations — as well as training content and trade show or marketing materials. Along with animations, our capabilities include virtual and augmented reality experiences.
