Covid-19 Animation: 3D Covid-19 Spike Protein Feature Animation
Spike Protein Feature With Covid 19 Animation
The speed and scale of the COVID-19 outbreak is overwhelming and took many of us by surprise. Clinical information is scarce and often contradictory, people are anxious and there is a real need to have the science behind the coronavirus explained in a calm, technically accurate manner. With over 20 years of experience in taking complicated scientific processes and explaining them through easily understandable 3D animations, Elara Systems was uniquely equipped to take on this challenge.
In collaboration with Jason McLellan (the Associate Professor of Molecular Biosciences at The University of Texas at Austin) and the National Institutes of Health, Elara created a 3D animation, which explained the unique aspects of the COVID-19 spike protein and the process by which it can attach to and infect healthy human cells. By understanding how the COVID-19 virus invades the human body, researchers are better equipped to determine how to develop a vaccine or treatment to effectively destroy the virus and prevent its further spread around the globe. Since the time this video was released to the public by Elara, it has garnered tens of thousands of views on various social media platforms and that number is still climbing.
Elara’s explanatory 3D animations and Virtual Reality experiences
It is our hope that Elara’s COVID-19 animation serves to educate and inform. Just like all of the work we produce at Elara, our goal is to further medical research, innovation and treatment through the use of explanatory 3D animations and Virtual Reality experiences.
